Anna DeSimone
A respected expert in the residential mortgage industry, Anna has authored more than 50 professional handbooks used by thousands of financial institutions nationwide, and has developed compliance policy and procedures for hundreds of mortgage bankers. She provides expert testimony on behalf of mortgage lenders in litigation matters pertaining to loan origination, servicing and foreclosure.
Anna has written a dozen publications for the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, including the Handbook of Fair Lending, and the Fair Lending Resource Guide, commissioned by President Clinton under a White House Executive Order to help curb lending discrimination.
She developed 14 policy manual templates published by AllRegs, 3 community development handbooks for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and educational materials for Freddie Mac and other trade groups, including the GML and MML certifications for the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women.
Anna was founder and CEO of Bankers Advisory, a mortgage quality control and compliance audit services firm based in Lexington, Massachusetts, now Clifton Larson Allen (CLA) Mortgage Services. Anna founded Bankers Advisory in 1986 and developed the firm’s Enterprise Management Compliance risk-based auditing technology and designed the AllRegs 50-state rules matrices. Anna’s software trademark, The Desktop Underwriter, was acquired by Fannie Mae in 1994.
She was named one of Housing Wire’s Women of Influence, received business awards from Acquisitions International and Wealth and Finance Magazine, and was a featured entrepreneur for Bloomberg News and Forbes Magazine.
